About Purrmian
Hi, I’m Norma Zakroff, the owner and cat sitter behind Purrmian.
Purrmian is a small, independently owned cat-care business serving River Oaks and Montrose. I provide all care personally, so the person you meet during onboarding is the same person who will be caring for your cats and visiting your home.
I created Purrmian around a simple idea: cats deserve care that respects their individual routines, personalities, and comfort levels. Some cats want company the moment I walk through the door. Others would prefer that I prepare dinner, clean the litter box, and give them plenty of space. Good cat care means paying attention to that difference.
My approach emphasizes calm handling, careful observation, consistency, and allowing cats to interact on their own terms. I’m Fear Free Certified, NAPPS Certified, Pet CPR Certified, insured and bonded, and I continue to pursue education related to feline care, behavior, medication support, and safety.
Because Purrmian is intentionally small, I’m able to get to know each household and provide consistent care rather than sending different sitters from visit to visit.
The Cats Behind Purrmian
My four cats have provided many years of practical education in the fact that no two cats want anything done exactly the same way.
Gigi: Chaos. Curious, playful, and absolutely certain that every cabinet, drawer, box, and forbidden space was placed there specifically for her enrichment.
Taylor: Professional lap cat. Believes personal space is a misunderstanding. Senior lady whose preferred activities include sunbathing, supervising, and occupying any available human.
Ambie: Sweet little tabby queen. Compliance officer trapped in a small orange body. Has strict mealtime protocols. See Instagram to hear her unique purr.
Tinker: Chatty, gentle, and exceptionally sweet senior kitty. Loves to participate in video conferencing! Somehow becomes nearly impossible to photograph the moment a camera appears.
